Three month Darbuka course- Beginner level

Fingers of Fury has created a three month Darbuka course designed to bring a beginner darbuka player up to an   intermediate level.

The course will guide the student through buying a darbuka drum and playing position, all of the essential tones and techniques, Arabic rhythms, soloing and more! This is the perfect way to learn the darbuka! Be guided by an experienced drummer who has helped thousands of students all over the world reach their musical goals.

Whilst the course begins in december 2009, students wanting to participate can start anytime they wish.

How the course works:

The Fingers of Fury Darbuka course has been designed for students to study from two (2) tutorial videos each week and for a period of twelve weeks. Each week you will find two new videos covering all of the essential topics required to become an intermediate level drummer (Total of 26 videos).

The course will be launched at the start of december 2009 and each weeks content can be found in the 'Darbuka course' gallery. After the twelve week period all of the videos will be stored here. Any student wishing to do the course can start any time they wish but it is highly recommended that you keep to the set amount of videos per week and not rush through them all. Note: Some weeks may feature more than two videos

Week 2- Arabic Rhythms 2, 4 and 8 beat cycles
Week 3- Ornimentation of a rhythm
Week 4- Drum Solo
Week 5- The 'Drum Roll'
Week 6- How to play for belly dancers
Week 7- Frame drums
Week 8- Ensemble compositions
Week 9- Trance drumming
Week 10- Odd time rhythms
Week 11- Practice regime
Week12- Where to now?
